-Holmenkollen is my home arena

On Wednesday, March 15, the Commission announced Tiril Eckhoff that she is retiring from biathlon. Just one day after her teammate Marte Olsbu Røiseland did the same.

During a press conference outside the Scandic hotel in Holmenkollen, Eckhoff expressed her gratitude for her career as a biathlete. She also adds the importance of Holmenkollen as an arena for her.

-"Holmenkollen is my home arena, so it's fantastic. Holmenkollen is where I have my best memories," says an emotional Tiril Eckhoff.

Sheep teddy bear

After the press conference, a tearful Tiril Eckhoff was surprised with a teddy bear. Ole Einar Bjørndalen gave her a miniature teddy bear of the mascot Braute. It is clear that Eckhoff appreciates the gesture. When asked what it is like to say thank you in Holmenkollen, she is also clearly moved.

- Very right, together Braute," says a tearful Tiril Eckhoff.
