In a post on Instagram, Riiber talks about health problems, despite good results. Now he wants to focus on his family and fatherhood.

An unparalleled career

Riiber is a combined star like no other. With over 70 World Cup victories, he has been a leading figure and a driving force in the development of nordic combined. In 2024, Riiber was awarded the Holmenkollen Medal by Crown Prince Haakon during the World Cup weekend in Holmenkollen, skiing's highest award in Norway.

Riiber has won 11 World Championship medals during his career, in addition to an Olympic medal. In 2023, he was crowned World Champion during the championship in Planica.

At just 18 years old, Riiber took his very first World Cup victory here in Holmenkollen. Now the audience and the rest of the skiing community are looking forward to seeing the nordic combined star perform one of his last World Cup performances at Holmenkollen Skifestival.

“It is always sad when athletes have to retire, but we are looking forward to welcoming Jarl Magnus Riiber one last time. His achievements have been a great inspiration in and around Nordic Combined. We know that the Kollen audience will welcome him warmly and ensure that he goes out with a real "Kollen roar"."
