The association "We Are All" comes into existence Kollen

The association “Vi Er Alle” organizes children's activities with a focus on creativity. On March 13th and 16th, a competition will be held at Holmenkollen Skifestival .

“The weather gods are with us, the sun is on the agenda. No fog, and we'll see who sets a new hill record in Mini-Holmenkollen,” says Christopher Wiedswang.

Wiedswang and the rest of the association are organizing a competition in their home-made miniature ski jumping hill.

"Everyone can make their own jumper or a vehicle to launch down the ski jump. Maybe also do telemark landings, we'll see," he says with a smile.

Focus on recycling

For over three years they have been collecting material for production at their workshop in Økern.

"We pick up leftover materials at construction sites, in neighborhoods and everywhere. All the materials around here are recycled. Nothing is bought, everything is picked up from around the area. The only things we buy new are markers, paint and glue for glue guns," says Wiedswang.

Torstein Aas has a background in furniture design. He is passionate about using recycled materials that are available.

"There is a lot of waste and opportunity in making something from what many would have thrown away," he explains.

Aas further explains that their projects are perceived as valuable by the public.

"We offer children opportunities that they might not get enough of in regular school. The opportunity to be creative without any specific goal. Our experience is that children really enjoy our events," he says.

“We Are All” works to promote creativity in children.

"Children have a lot of imagination to give vent to, so it's not like we really have to give them that much input. They come up with a lot of fun things that us adults might not have been able to do," says Aas.

Making signs for Kollen

The association has made signs for the arena under Holmenkollen Skifestival All materials used for this production are recycled.

"A sign that becomes a new sign," says Aas.

“Yes, it’s called recycling!” Wiedswang continues.

This is the first year the association has participated in Holmenkollen. Skifestival Wiedswang encourages everyone to join the event.

"Bring your family and friends. We're really looking forward to it!", he concludes.
